Aspergers Parallel Planet is a 'non-profit' organisation

The time put into the creation, development, and ongoing running of this site is currently put in voluntarily. While I'm more than happy to continue to do this and personally pay for the webhosting and domain registration for this site in order that it can continue to provide a free service to people worldwide - As I know that being on the autism spectrum can be a very lonely journey, and I want you to all know, you are not alone, all welcome..

You will always be free to use this site for free, but to be able to promote and raise awareness funding for advertising, events which can only be done with your help. And your welcome to let me know of any projects you feel would be appropriate for funding in comments below. Otherwise if receive any funding, will give the options before donating on AsPlanet forum and will be able to vote via a poll.

Any funds I do receive will go direct to ANZ bank "Aspergers Parallel Planet" account, and they have control over all cheques, so each donation will be discuss with them as to where going and a record will be added to this site. I have decided to do this, rather than become a registered charity and compete with existing autism groups.

I decided to keep site as an independent site, that way your views really count and less control from the government etc... we decide where the greater need is. Plus this web site, forum, daily emails and groups I attend are all in my own time and really do not want to get bogged down with all in the paper work etc...

 .

Then donations will go from account direct to appropriate projects which I, via my Autism Group, National and Government autism groups here in NZ feel most appropriate to help raise awareness, or help those on the autism spectrum, at present working with The National Autism NZ group here in NZ, as on their committee and at present helping to organize Autism NZ 2009 Fun run/walk (details to follow soon), there are other projects I will consider like the sexy backs project http://www.jamesprice.co.nz/iamme.html if goes national, and of course any worldwide projects welcome, then AsPlanet members and I will decide and hopefully will make a real difference.

If I receive any funds I will first discuss with AsPlanet members (free to join) for their views, give options and ask for suggestions, then will also ask advise from The National Autism group www.autismnz.org.nz and/or The Government group here in NZ, and at present working with them here in NZ on the Autism Spectrum Disorder National Guidelines group project www.nzgg.org.nz

No donations are used for this web site, or forum or admin fees - that’s my gift. So every donation will be use to help those in need and your views and ideas will be considered. All ideas are welcome and maybe even the AsPlanet members will do an advert, how better to raise awareness than by those of us on the autism spectrum, see through our eyes..

Volunteer(s) needed:

This is due to site growing faster than I could have ever imagined when starting site. It the first support website / forum for and by those of us on the autism spectrum here in New Zealand... while it started out as my journey, it now ocludes many other individuals and holds the ASK Trust web site details, as well as other ASD individual site details such as ASNZ.

 .

I run the web site and forum on my own, in my own time and all self funded. It has become more time consuming, but support and/or funds would greatly help, as so much more could be done in regards to raising awareness and education...I am more than happy to do as much as I can as since sharing my story, thoughts etc. with others. It has also helped me come to terms with who I am – so I thank all of you for that.

Needed: very experienced technical person(s) who are in Christchurch, who could give good background advice and help with site layout etc... from time to time I would really appropriate you contacting me via email (forum or via web site contacts).

As running site on my own and learning as I go can be very time consuming, working out new processes etc.. and would save me heaps of time if had contact I could ask from time to time... Also happy to hear from anyone with any suggestions, ideas or just want to help support me run web site...

I did think long and hard before adding this section and discussed with quite a few people, groups. My site is free and paid for by me, but I really would like to do more and feel if others willing to help, then I am happy to help them do so.

I feel priority to start would be to raise awareness and reach out to as many people as possible, as not everyone has a computer. But, so much more needs to be done, to do this we need funds and all the ASD groups need to come together here in NZ and world wide...
